ABSTRACT
The paper addresses multiresolutional representation of datasets arising from a computational field simulation. approach determines the regions interest, breaks volume into variable size blocks to localize information, and then codes each block using wavelet transform. are ranked by visual information content so that most informative coefficients can be embedded in bit stream for progressive transmission or access. technique is demonstrated on widely-used simulation dataset.
