ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to compare the chondroprotective effects chondroitin sulfate (CS)-hyaluronic acid (HA) (CS-HA) injection and HA in an experimental model osteoarthritis. After induction osteoarthritis rabbits, 28 rabbits were randomized into four groups: control group, 'HA' 'CS' 'CS-HA' group. 7 days, group respectively treated with normal saline, HA, CS, or CS-HA knees. All animals once weekly. continuously for 5 weeks. Histological biochemical evaluations performed. As shown by histological observation, treatment showed a effect on However, scores not significantly different (p > 0.05). results evaluation that expression levels IL-1β, TNF-α, TIMP-1 NO synovial fluid groups all from < these molecules three In conclusion, no obvious advantage over treatment.
