ABSTRACT
This paper presents the application of a smeared fixed crack approach for nonlinear finite element analysis shear-critical reinforced concrete beams. The experimental data was adopted from tests undertaken on twelve beams by Bresler and Scordelis in 1963, duplicate Vecchio Shim 2004. To this end, all were modeled 3D using software package ATENA-GiD. In modeling, behaviors represented fracture-plastic constitutive models, which formulated within crack/crush band approaches. applicability demonstrated through accurate simulations full load-deflection responses, underlying mechanisms, patterns, failure modes 24 Detailed documentation results is presented to demonstrate potential practical value providing an informed assessment safety performance structures.
