ABSTRACT
In this paper, we will try to establish the conditions of possibility agency. We present a notion ‘freedom’, as opposed traditional concept ‘free will’, based on pluralistic and relational ontology that admits existence real possibilities. contrast view, propose ‘freedom’ is not condition necessarily carried by individuals, nor it limited human beings, but characteristic complex organised systems capable acting mediating agents Our conceptualisation takes up Aristotelian potency different ‘degrees potency’ inspired Deleuzian reading Spinoza. sense, an agentive action degrees when its expression incorporates, in creative act, possibilities are regulated deterministic laws. way, can account for actions part types agents, ranging from living organisms collective subjects social classes, thus connecting with post-humanist anti-speciesist perspectives. work intended provide empirically testable compatible (and by) available physical-biological knowledge. hope proposed notions have impact future research emergence individuation consciousness, well ethical-political consequences. our contrasts one liberal currents, freedom intrinsic property individuals related each other competitive ties, which results purely ‘negative’ notion.
