EFFICACY OF DRUG THERAPY IN PATIENTS WITH PERIPHERAL ARTERIAL DISEASE IN RELATION TO SMOKING

ABSTRACT
Peripheral arterial disease is one of the manifestations atherosclerosis that manifests itself primarily in peripheral arteries lower extremities and aortoiliac segment.The largest number patients, about 90%, have functional ischemia (Stage IIa IIb according to Fontaine).For these therapy choice medication consisting a combination acetylsalicylic acid, cilostazol pentoxifylline.Smoking very significant risk factor for development also most outcome modifiers.The study included 82 patients diagnosed with ischaemia treated at Clinic Vascular Surgery Clinical Center Niš, starting from January 2020 December 31, 2020.Smoking was present 76.82% respondents.In research conducted, 48.78% respondents used pentoxifylline + while 51.22% were acid.Results showed extension claudication distance after 6 months significantly greater group who acid.In subgroup smoking > 20 cigars daily years there increase acid compared group.In conclusion, cigarettes/day length experience effect on applied therapeutic modality disease.Cilostazol more effective than acid.
