ABSTRACT
Rice is commonly used in degraded pasture area renovation. In this process, the rice set up simultaneously with forage plants, which increases difficulty to control post-emerged weeds. Thus, study aimed evaluate crop development intercropped Urochloa under herbicides pendimethalin and trifluralin application. The experimental design was a 2x3 factorial composed of 1) absence or 2) presence pre-plant incorporated (PPI) x (no additional herbicides); 3) trifluralin. For intercrop rice, two grass were used, ruziziensis U. brizantha. sowed on same day as application herbicide. level determination performed by counting remaining crop, evaluated: tiller number, viable panicle, grain yield. grass, evaluated shoot dry mass An interaction between herbicide incorporation observed. On weed joyweed (Alternanthera tenella) affected treatments, incorporation, better controlled. improved provided conditions for weight biomass production. highest yield observed ruziziensi decreased plants. use pre-emergence provide increased without reducing not affecting intercropping system.
