Determining smoking level of hospital employees and the evaluation of the smoke-free air zone applications

ABSTRACT
Objective: The aim of this study is to define the health knowledge, cigarette smoking behaviors, attempts and successes quit obstacles indicated by ones who still smoke among a Training Research Hospital staff four years after application law "Smoke Free Air Zone". Methods: A questionnaire developed researchers used for cross sectional research. It questions sociodemographic features thoughts attitudes about Zone" Hospital" applications. Fagerstrom Nicotine Dependence Test also applied attendants level dependence. Results: was found that 29.6% participants smoke. Among ones; 29.4% did not ever attempt quit, 28.2% attempted before starting work in hospital, 20% hospital 22.4% on both periods. Regarding it 70.7% support application, 53.3% think violators should be punished with penalty, 48.1% administration, 30.1% passive an intrusion personal rights 59.1% quitters increased application. Conclusion: Reducing rates healthcare extremely important struggle against smoking. Establishment applications institutional education programs easing access related services may helpful personnel
