The purpose of the current study was to identify teacher behaviors that secondary students perceivedas demonstrating caring. questions guided this inquiry were (a) what dohigh school perceive as caring? and (b) do high studentsperceive most important aspects Whereas previous studies clearly have documentedthe power influence caring teachers on adolescents’ success, we posit knowing whatstudents can be used a springboard shape context forall students, especially those who are marginalized, feel disenfranchised, at risk droppingout school.
