ABSTRACT
Assessing and promoting self-determination is a key educational component to improved outcomes for transition-age young, specially students with significant support needs. However, there are no psychometric robust tools in the Spanish context assess self-determination. The main aim of this study present developmental ARC-INICO Self-determination Scale designed evaluate self-determined behavior intellectual disability an exploratory its psychometrical properties. scale was applied 99 high school disabilities. On average, these were 16 years old (range: 11-19). Adequate internal consistency shown. factor analysis supported multidimensional structure proposed scale. A set items found review based on discrimination index. In conclusion, initial analyses show acceptable preliminary properties measure, indicating that it’s followed right path development tool know level skills such as autonomy, self-regulation, empowerment or self-knowledge will be essential their process transition adulthood.
