Bilateral Supracondylar Femoral Stress Fractures in an Adolescent: A Case Report

ABSTRACT
Bilateral supracondylar stress fractures of the femur in adolescents is a rare presentation. Due to uncommon and non-specific presentation there high risk misdiagnosis thus detrimental complications. We report case bilateral an 18 year old male Somalian ethnic background who presented our institution with right oblique fracture evidence sclerotic edges. The patient was found have symmetrical which missed primary care as result this weakening it ultimately lead fracture. Although are most commonly seen osteoporotic population, other factors include: exercise type, anatomical hormonal variables. Our highlights predisposition importance heightened clinical suspicion when faced presenting chronic musculoskeletal pain.
