ABSTRACT
Objectives:We sought to describe the perioperative and postoperative adverse events associated with sacral colpopexy evaluate surgical outcome, complications, benefits of laparoscopic fixation for patients pelvic prolapse.Methods: Ninety-two women uterine prolapse underwent between January 2011 September 2016 at Chosun University Hospital.Patients' electronic medical records were investigated demographic, intraoperative, data.Strict definitions used all clinically relevant events.Patients' outcomes documented 1 self-administered quality life questionnaires: Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20 focused on symptom distress.The primary analysis looking was descriptive statistics reported groups as n/N (%) 95% confidence intervals categorical variables mean ± standard deviation (range) continuous variables.Results: Their age 69 8.1 years, follow-up duration 12 months, operating time 61 minutes.There seven conversions due anesthetic or difficulties.Follow-up performed using a telephone questionnaire physical examination months.There three cases pain strong analgesics, one vaginal erosion, two transient urinary retentions, spondylitis, mesh infection.Of patients, 98.9% satisfied results, while none complained sexual dysfunction problems performing her usual activities.Conclusions: Laparoscopic is feasible highly effective technique that offers good long-term results complication rates similar those open surgery added benefit being minimally invasive.(
