ABSTRACT
Childhood obesity is a rising health concern in Vietnam, however, research this area not extensive. The aim of study was to determine the prevalence childhood overweight and obesity, associations between weight status selected lifestyle factors, such as diet physical activity levels, among children aged 6-10 years Hai Phong City, Vietnam.Two hundred seventy-six from an urban rural primary school participated cross-sectional study. Data on weight, height waist circumference were used calculate BMI, waist-height ratio proportion who overweight, obese had high central adiposity. Information diet, socioeconomic families collected using questionnaires.Prevalences abdominal adiposity 11.2%, 10.1% 19.9%, respectively. Children completed >=60 minutes daily 50% 80% less likely be have adiposity, Computer usage increased odds by 4.5 3.9 times, Mothers with higher education income levels risk their being (p<0.05).Physical inactivity maternal cohort. Future interventions should target parents providing both educational modules centred healthy eating habits, parental feeding practices strategies for increasing activity.
