Effectiveness of Compassion Therapy on Psychological Well-being and Feelings of Shame and Guilt in Underachieving Gifted Adolescents

ABSTRACT
Objective: Attention to the psychological problems of underachieving gifted students is crucial; thus, present study aimed investigate effectiveness compassion therapy training on well-being and feelings shame guilt in adolescents. Methods Materials: This research was semi-experimental with a pre-test, post-test, follow-up design, including control group. The statistical population consisted all female from first-grade high schools National Organization for Development Exceptional Talents Isfahan academic year 2022-2023. From this population, sample purposefully selected based criteria underachievement then randomly assigned experimental (15 individuals) groups. group received intervention (Gilbert, 2009) over course one month, spanning 8 sessions 90 minutes each. instruments included Academic Achievement Questionnaire (Salehi, 2014), Psychological Well-being (Ryff, 2002), Feelings Guilt (Eysenck, 2007). Mixed analysis variance used data analysis. Findings: findings indicated that mean scores post-test showed significant increase (F = 103.859, P < 0.001), decrease 84.716, 0.001). Conclusion: program can positively impact enhancement improvement
