Objective: To assess the value of ABC score in predicting early rebleeding and in - hospital mortality in cirrhotic patients with acute variceal bleeding (AVB). Subject and method: cross-sectional descriptive study carried out on 201 cirrhotic patients with AVB in 108 military central hospital between September 2022 and April 2023. To compare ABC score with the rate of early rebleeding and in - hospital mortality. Results: ABC score had a good prognostic power in hospital - mortality (0,804; 95%CI: 0,70 – 0,91; p <0,001), at the cut-off value of 8, ABC score had 81.0% Se, 79,4% Sp) and an acceptable predicting value in re-bleeding (AUROC 0,744; 95%CI: 0,59 – 0,89; p = 0,002), at the cut-off value of 9, ABC score had 62,5% Se and 84,9% Sp. Conclusion: ABC score has a significant perfomance in the prognosis of early rebleeding and in - hospital mortality in cirrhotic patients with AVB.
