An original and effective synthesis of 1,2-dihydro-3<em>H</em>-pyrrole-3-thiones from available γ-amino acetylenic ketones and elemental sulfur as a trigger and reagent has been developed. The reaction is carried out in the KOH/ethanol system, the yield of the target heterocycles being 46-75
