ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to cast light on initiating molecular events associated with the development premalignant oral lesions induced by tobacco and/or areca nut.Immunohistochemical analyses cell cycle regulatory proteins (LIMD1, RBSP3, p16, RB, phosphorylated p53), EGFR and SH3GL2 (EGFR protein) were performed inflammatory/ ulcerative epithelium adjacent hyperplastic/mild dysplastic lesions. No change in expression seen inflammatory epithelium. Reduced nuclear LIMD1 evident In hyperplastic lesions, reduced overexpression p-RB apparent. p53 observed mild lesions. Our data suggest that inactivation might predispose tissues alterations other signaling needed for lesions.
