Role of Endoscopic Ultrasound in Evaluation of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors - Report of 22 Cases from a Tertiary Center in Iran

ABSTRACT
The pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (pNET) is relatively rare and generally felt to follow an indolent course. EUS has important role in detection of pNET. This a review clinical radiological presentation pathologic reports 22 patients with pNET.In this study we analyzed presentations all relevant cases who were referred Taleghani hospital for 3 years since 2008.A total 28-74 old (mean=49) enrolled between 2008 2011. Among the total, 13 (59%) male, 9 (41%) female 16 (72.7%) had functional tumors. results CT negative 12 (54%) but was capable detecting lesions these patients, cysts being found 4 (19%) patients.EUS highly sensitive procedure localization pNETs especially insulinomas. Nonfunctional tumors detected more advanced late stages cystic common group.
