ABSTRACT
Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease comprising of distinct biological subtypes with many targeted prognostic biomarkers having therapeutic implications. However, no specific therapy for triple negative breast has been discovered to date and hence further research needed.The aim objectives the present study were examine prevalence (TNBC) in North-East India compare clinicopathological parameters two groups defined by immunohistochemistry (IHC) -"TNBC" "Others".We carried out retrospective cohort 972 patients diagnosed invasive carcinoma Department Pathology, Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Regional Centre treatment research, Guwahati, period 3 years 10 months from January 2010 October 2013. Based on IHC findings, divided into - "TNBC" "Others". All relevant compared both. TNBC as those that estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone (PR), HER2/neu while positive any these markers "Others".In this study, total cases 31.9% (310 cases) 662 (68.1%) "Others" based markers. Compared category, presented at an early age (mean 40 years), associated high grade large tumours rate node positivity, IDC NOS being most common histological subtype TNBC.TNBC accounts significant portion cancers part commonly younger tend be tumours.
