ABSTRACT
Cancer is one of the leading causes death in Thailand as well other countries. Evidences from studies Asia show that alcohol consumption has been linked to an increased risk for various types cancer. In qualitative participatory action research presented here, possibilities a volunteer women's movement reduce harmful by facilitating creation emancipatory knowledge Thai-Isaan community was explored. During in-depth interviews with 10 female participants, following themes emerged: merit making, developing sense personal empowerment, and experience participating plan utilized strategies. The project activities empowered participants create share which then applied toward change. Adoption this type program local health care providers problems risks related misuse similar contexts cultures recommended.
