ABSTRACT
Free radicals can cause damage to cells or tissues, autoimmune diseases, degenerative cancer. Therefore, the body needs important substances, namely antioxidants that help protect by reducing negative effect from free radicals. Rose flower (Rosa damascena) has anthocyanin pigment which belongs flavonoid group a function as antioxidant radical scavenger. This study aims determine and anti-elastase potentials of rose petals receptacles. The method used in this was qualitative phytochemical test compounds contained Petal Extract (RPE) Receptacle (RRE), ABTS ((2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid))-reducing assay activity, antiaging with assay. RPE RRE flavonoids, phenols, tannins alkaloids, but did not contain saponins. triterpenoids terpenoids, while steroids, terpenoids. inhibitory concentration (IC50) values were 4.46 ± 0.34 μg/mL 15.49 0.23 results 17.51 1.47 58.91 2.31 (RRE). Both are potent anti-elastase, is more active than these assays.
