ABSTRACT
Background : In diagnosc radiology there are two reasons for measuring or esmang radiaon doses to paents. Firstly measure ments provide a means seng and checking standards of good pracce as an aid the opmizaon paent protecon. Secondly esmates o f absorbed dose ssue organs in Materials Methods: A total 2382 paents were studied calculate Entrance Surface Air Kerma (ESAK) following seven radiographic examinaons including: chest (PA, Lat), lumbar spines (AP, pelvis (AP), abdomen skull thoracic spine Lat) cervical Lat). The ESAKs values measured according x- ray tube output, opmized exposure parameters body thickness (t p) each technique. Results: such as, 1 st quarle, mean, median, 3 rd minimum, maximum standard deviaon ESAK reported compared NRPB guide levels. results showed that s X-ray 30% above However, (PA) (AP) examinaons, these below than those by NRPB. Conclusion: Periodic quality control monitoring technical performance radiographers might effecvely improve image eventually reducing received
