ABSTRACT
This study was aimed to compare the curative effect of BCH - 2003 protocol and CCLG 2008 for children with TEL-AML1 fusion gene positive childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) investigate more suitable this subtype leukemia. The clinical data ALL admitted from January October 2010 in Hematology Center Beijing Children's Hospital were collected. common characteristics including prednisone response at day 8, minimal residual disease (MRD) end induction remission (day 33), event free survival (EFS), relapse (RFS) compared. results showed that out 204 ALL, 134 70 patients treated by BCH-2003 CCLG-2008 respectively. There no statistical difference age, white blood cell count peripheral presentation, CNS involvement. However, there boys group (P = 0.025). negative rate MRD 33 lower than 0.013). After re-stratifying according stratification criteria protocol, intermediate risk remained higher 0.014) . significant standard found. also differences incidence severe infection, EFS RFS, 1.000, P 0.327,P 0.251 respectively) during chemotherapy. It is concluded can decrease leukemic load quickly protocol. outcome two protocols similar.
