ABSTRACT
The present study examined the effects of a prolonged exercise intervention at lactate threshold (LT) on body composition, aerobic performance, and autonomic nervous system (ANS) in women with obesity.A total 36 obese Korean aged to 55 years (mean±standard deviation, 44.8±5.2 years) were randomly assigned control group (CON, n=18) or an experimental (EXP, n=18); EXP underwent training three times week heart rate corresponding LT (HR_LT) for 12 weeks. All dependent variables (body ANS function parameters) evaluated before after training.Compared CON group, showed significant improvement composition weight, -4.57 vs. -2.40 kg; mass index, -1.79 -0.96 kg/m2; %body fat, -4.63 -1.41; fat-free mass, 3.24 -0.08 kg), performance (oxygen consumption LT, 5.74 0.12 mL/kg/min; maximal oxygen consumption, 5.41 2.14 treadmill speed HR_LT, 1.40 0.29 km/hr; bicycle load 18.62 4.52 w; (mean RR, 50.83 -15.04 ms; standard deviation NN intervals, 5.08 -0.55 root mean square successive differences, 6.42 1.87 power, 0.34 0.10 ms2; high frequency, 0.32 -0.04 low frequency/high -0.09 0.01).Aerobic weeks is practical method improving obesity.
