Isolation of a Recent Korean Epizootic Strain of Newcastle Disease Virus from Eurasian Scops Owls Affected with Severe Diarrhea

Velogenic Newcastle disease virus (NDV) was recovered from two dead Eurasian Scops Owls (Otus scops) a wildlife rescue center in Korea during 2005. Phylogenetic analysis based on the sequence of partial fusion (F) protein revealed that isolates had highest level homology to recent Korean NDV strains poultry.
