ABSTRACT
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common and it a worldwide challenge. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR) had been suggested as markers of CRC, but role monocyte-to-lymphocyte (MLR) in CRC patients before surgery chemotherapy unclear. The study aimed to compare diagnosis prognosis value MLR, NLR, PLR CRC. Methods A retrospective was conducted on 783 with histologically confirmed colorectal between 2015 2017 Fujian Medical University Union Hospital. total 1,232 healthy age-matched participants were eligible for study. Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) analysis performed area under ROC curve (AUC) PLR, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate 19-9 (CA19-9). Furthermore, chi-squared test determine prognostic values PLR. Results levels significantly higher than those participants. curves (AUCs) CEA, CA19-9 0.739, 0.726, 0.683, 0.610, 0.603, respectively. Moreover, combined marker CEA + MLR an AUC 0.815 acted superior diagnostic compared other markers, including CA19-9. level associated tumor size (p = 0.001), high NLR correlated pT stage 0.048) 0.004). Conclusions present shows first time that rather better cancer, may be patients.
