ABSTRACT
In Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, the high consanguinity rates contribute to prevalence of inherited hemoglobinopathies such as sickle cell disease and thalassemia, which frequently require blood transfusions. These transfusions carry risk alloimmunization, necessitating a precise component matching mitigate health risks. Local antigen frequency data is vital for optimizing transfusion practices enhancing safety these medical procedures Al-Ahsa population.
