ABSTRACT
To explore the application of instantaneous wave intensity for early diagnosis systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)-induced atherosclerosis, we observed carotid elasticity by in premenopausal women with SLE.The study included 3 groups (each group 30 participants): SLE1 (course disease <5 years), SLE2 ≥5 years) and healthy control. Carotid parameters, including acceleration intensity, deceleration negative area, stiffness constant, pulse velocity, constant pressure strain elastic modulus, arterial compliance, augmentation index, intima-media thickness, were measured.Compared control group, velocity significantly increased but compliance was decreased (all P ≤ .01). The area tended to increase all groups, there no statistical differences among groups. higher than lower .01).Instantaneous can be used evaluate patients SLE, which is important prevention treatment cardiovascular disease.
