ABSTRACT
In the present study, we aim to share our clinical experience in patients with spontaneous splenic rupture. Splenic rupture without trauma is known as The major problems management of are missed or delayed diagnosis due lack most cases. records all patients, who were admitted Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, Istanbul University, retrospectively reviewed from January 2000 March 2013. Twelve emergency department and they diagnosed mean age was 47.6 years. All had complaints abdominal pain. hematocrit value 22%. Radiologic assessment revealed hemoperitoneum and/or subcapsular hematoma 8 while abscess 2 patients. Eleven underwent splenectomy whereas one managed conservatively. common cause determined be use anticoagulants. Etiology considered idiopathic 1 patient. Two died postoperative period. Although rare, must suspected have used especially anticoagulants antiaggregants no recent history trauma. One important causes mortality diagnosis.
