ABSTRACT
Three reinforced concrete beams, one with no shear reinforcement and two others ratios of 0.4% 1.1%, were tested to investigate the influence stirrup spacing on mode failure, overall strength ductility. The results show that beam closely-spaced failed in a ductile manner, whereas other beams large exhibited only small measure ductility brittle manner. importance provisions maximum is highlighted ensure adequate anchorage for stirrups prevent premature failure occur. application non-contact monitoring system employing open source digital image correlation software Ncorr, an ordinary camera smartphone demonstrated provide visualization cracking process throughout load history.
