ABSTRACT
Frequent flooding occurs in many rivers and urban areas, exacerbated by recent increase localized heavy rainfall events induced global climate change. Particularly, the area encompassing Songbaek to Waryong districts Jinju is frequently affected due typhoons rainfall-related outflow from Namgang Dam, resulting significant economic losses, though it located a flood plain. In this study, two analysis models, namely HEC-RAS EPA-SWMM, were used simulate overflow district. specialized 2D analysis, simulates topography-based inundation effects spatial spread of water, thus making advantageous for prediction or low-lying areas. contrast, EPA-SWMM 1D focuses on sewer systems conduit flows, rendering suitable drainage system analysis. These models simulations based (i) measured discharge 792 ㎥/s event that caused study (ii) projected 3,540 The demonstrated a-1, a-2, b-1, b-2 estimated depths 15.25, 14.81, 19.20, 17.11 m, respectively. A comparison these results with actual depth District showed HEC-RAS, which considers flow reflects detailed topographic data, yielded closer depth. tended underestimate essence, suggested considering different characteristics limitations their comparative can provide more accurate approach Future research should focus combining analyses calibrating enhance accuracy.
