Summary Agrobacterium ‐mediated genetic transformation has been optimized in indica rice susceptible to sap‐sucking insects, viz., brown planthopper (BPH) and green leafhopper (GLH). Snowdrop lectin gene ( gna ) from Galanthus nivalis , driven by phloem‐specific rice‐sucrose‐synthase promoter, along with herbicide resistance bar CaMV 35S was employed for transformation. Embryogenic calli – after co‐cultivation strain LBA4404 harbouring Ti plasmid pSB111‐ bar‐gna were selected on the medium...
Abstract The essential oil of cinnamon leaf ( Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume) grown at Bangalore and Hyderabad has been analysed by capillary GC GC‐MS. Besides the main constituent, eugenol (81.4‐84.5%), 47 other constituents, including those present in trace amounts, have identified samples from two locations. differed with respect to relative amounts linalol, E )‐cinnamaldehyde, )‐cinnamyl acetate, β‐caryophyllene benzyl benzoate. Also content material was found be higher than that material.
To study the prevalence of drug resistant mastitis and their pattern antibiotic resistance in dairy cows from Tamil Nadu.
Abstract The most effective drug, doxorubicin (DOX), is widely used worldwide for clinical application as an anticancer drug. DOX‐induced cytotoxicity characterized by mitochondrial dysfunction. There no alternative treatment against cardiac damage despite intensive research in the present decades. Ohwia caudata has emerged a potential herbal remedy that prevents from owing to its pharmacological action of sustaining dynamics attenuating oxidative stress and inducing cellular longevity....
The field investigations were carried out at the Experimental Farm, Department of Agronomy, Faculty Agriculture, Annamalai University, Nagar 608 002 during July - October, 2023 and Jan April, 2024 to study conjoint influence organics inorganics on growth yield attributes sunflower based intercropping system. experiments laid in split plot design with three replications. main treatments comprised M1 Sole sunflower, M2 + greengram subplot S1 RDF alone (60:90:60kgs NPK ha-1), S2 : Poultry...
Doxorubicin (DOX) is mostly utilized as a wide range of antitumor anthracycline to treat different cancers. The severe antagonistic impacts DOX on cardiotoxicity constrain its clinical application. Many mechanisms are involved in cardiac toxicity induced by the human body. Mitochondria central part fatty acid and glucose metabolism. Thus, impaired mitochondrial metabolism can increase heart failure risk, which play vital role cardiomyocyte dysfunction. This study aimed assess possible...
Abstract The leaf oil of Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume grown in Little Andaman was analysed by GC and GC–MS. Forty‐seven constituents, representing 99.96% the oil, were identified. main constituents eugenol (76.60%), linalool (8.5%) piperitone (3.31%). composition is comparable to cinnamon produced Bangalore Hyderabad (south India) terms contents. Abstract Ocimum tenuiflorum L.f. (syn. O. sanctum L.) (Lamiaceae) is an indigenous ayurvedic medicinal plant of India and popularly known as holy basil/sacred basil. Oils obtained by hydrodistillation from leaves, stems, inflorescence whole herb were analyzed GC GC/MS retention indices. Methyl eugenol was the major constituent all oils (72.5%, 75.3%, 83.7% 65.2% in herb, leaf, stem inflorescence, respectively). β-Caryophyllene second most dominant respective concentration each oil (5.5%,...
Abstract Doxorubicin (DOX), an effective chemotherapeutic drug, has been used to treat various cancers; however, its cardiotoxic side effects restrict therapeutic efficacy. Fisetin, a flavonoid phytoestrogen derived from range of fruits and vegetables, reported exert cardioprotective against DOX‐induced cardiotoxicity; the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigated fisetin's role mechanism cardiotoxicity in H9c2 cardiomyoblasts ovariectomized (OVX) rat models. MTT assay...
Abstract The seeds of Zanthoxylum alatum Roxb., on hydrodistillation, gave 1.5% oil (v/w). GC and GC–MS analysis the resulted in identification 56 constituents, representing 99.5% oil. Linalool (71%), limonene (8.2%), β‐phellandrene (5.7%) ( Z )‐methylcinnamate (4.9%) were major components. It is suggested that Z. can be used as a commercial source for isolation linalool.
