This study was performed to assess the combined effects of three salinities (0, 20 and 38 ppt) acclimation temperatures (15, 25°C) on growth performance, proximate composition thermal tolerance European Sea Bass (32 g) inhabiting southern parts Mediterranean Sea.Highest fish final weight (83.8 achieved at 25°C in freshwater (FW).Specific rate (SGR) about twice higher than that 15°C, while 20°C promoted an intermediate growth. The cultured FW displayed consistently lower FCR better SGR those...
The compensatory growth response of the European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) that faced cycling starvation and restricted ration was assessed. Juveniles (10.5 g) were stocked into 15 tanks at a density 25 fish per tank. Five different feeding regimes tested on triplicate groups fish: CSatiation: control fed for 60 days without deprivation, CRestricted: 25% feeding, S-R: 1 day then 4 CRestricted R-F: CSatiation and, finally, S-F: feeding. specific rate in (2.5 ± 0.06% day−1), S-F 0.11%...
Triplicate groups of gilthead sea bream, Sparus aurata (10.4 g), were distributed among 27 tanks (12 fish per tank) and reared in flow‐through seawater. A factorial experiment (3 × 3) was designed to include a continuously fed control group two cycled starvation groups: 1 + 3 (starved d, d), 5 d). Each the feeding subjected one three frequencies (2, 4, 6 times day) over 60‐d duration. The average final weight significantly lower than that group. Partial compensation observed starved any...
This study evaluated dietary polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA)/highly unsaturated (HUFA) ratios in European sea bass subjected to feeds containing fish oil (FO) or two different vegetable oils (the monounsaturated acid: MUFArich rapeseed oil, RO; and the n-6 PUFA-rich cottonseed CSO).Triplicate groups of twenty (35-g ± 0.2) were fed three fish-based diets which added lipid was 100% (FO), refined low-erucic-acid-rapeseed (RO), (CSO) for a period 130 days.As result this study, final weight,...
The white grouper is a desirable aquaculture species that adapts to captivity, grows well and commands high market price. However, little known about reproductive biology or control of sex reversal this protogynous hermaphrodite. In study, female groupers were implanted with one dose 17α-methyltestosterone (10 mg/kg body weight [BW], MT) two doses aromatase inhibitor, fadrozole (1 3 BW, FD1 FD3) once month for 4 months (April–July). At the start fish had gonads full oocytes compared end...
A total of 300 juvenile crayfish (13.0±0.03 g) were randomly distributed among 5 dietary groups (n=60, 3 replicates) held within 15×500 L-1 fiberglass tanks connected to a recirculation system (RAS), at 20 per tank. Each group was fed for 12 weeks one five experimental diets where the main protein sources were: 1) control, fish-meal-based diet (FM, 48% diet); 2) 10% FM + 52.5% poultry by-product meal (PoM); 3) 34.5% soybean corn gluten (Pmix); 4) PoM 32.soybean/corn mix (PoM/Pmix); and 5)...
The present study aims to determine the proximate, fatty acid and amino profiling of consumed fresh narrow-barred Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus commerson). Landed fish were freshly sampled (total length 33.7-48.7 cm weight 617-1260 g) from Yumurtalık Bay (north-eastern Mediterranean Sea) in Turkey during January, February March. protein values highest January (22.89%) while lowest (21.38%) March (21.73%). Lipid ash not significantly differencing among sampling time. data revealed that...
In this study, the European Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) were fed rich canola oil which is containing monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) and cottonseed n-6 polyunsaturated (PUFA) effects of these feeds on some hematological parameters investigated. Experimental fish two times daily with 100% (FO-control), (CSO), (CO) 50% CSO - CO (CSO50-CO50) for 162 days. End experiment, total erythrocyte (RBC) amount was highest in group 269.0 x (104 mm3 -1) compared to all other groups. Leukocyte (WBC)...
The first aim of the present study was to determine appropriate artemia enrichment levels by using Aurantiochytrium mangrovei FIKU008 served as DHA source and secondly test effects enriched-Artemia on growth survival during early larval stages(M1-PL7) Penaeus semisulcatus. In 1st experiment, four different AUR (0.0,0.6,0.8 1.0g/L) against a control commercial solution (S-presso) were tested for 12/24-hours while in 2nd three (0.0, 0.6 0.8g/L) fed stages. At end both enrichments, EPA found be...
Critical thermal maxima (CTMax) and minima (CTMin) were determined for Turkish crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus) acclimated to 15, 20 25°C. CTMin CTMax 1.3, 1.1 2.0°C, 37.4, 37.5 38.7°C, respectively. Thermal tolerance tests showed that acclimation temperatures (15, 25°C) had significant effects on values of A. leptodactylus (P≤0.05). The area assessed using the boundaries calculated as 364°C2. overall ARR 0.07 0.13 between 15 25 °C tempera-tures. All crumpled at 0.5°C spasm 32.0 – 33.0°C....
This study assessed the potential of omega-3 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 LC-PUFA) enrichment in red earthworm (Eisenia fetida, REW), via addition fish oil (FO, anchovy oil) to culture-compost. FO compost was tested at graded inclusion doses (0, 2.5, 5 and 10 g/100 g compost) for different timeperiods, up 96h. Dose, time, as well dose time interactions had significant effects on all bodies. The with FO/100 sharply increased DHA levels worms (14.01 mol%) within just 24 h,...
Artemia zenginleştirmesinin karides larvaları üzerindeki etkileri konusunda önemli miktarda çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Penaeid karideslerin, yüksek oranda doymamış yağ asitlerinin (n-3 HUFA) sentezlemede sınırlı bir yeteneğine sahip olduğu iyi bilinmektedir. Bu çalışma, deneylerde yeşil kaplan karidesi (Penaeus semisulcatus) larva kültürü sırasında n-3 HUFA ile zenginleştirilen Artemianın büyüme ve hayatta kalma üzerine etkilerini araştırmak için Mysis I'den postlarvalara (PL9) on güne kadar P....
