A resource optimization methodology is proposed for application in long range wide area networks (LoRaWANs). Using variable neighborhood search (VNS) and a minimum-cost spanning tree algorithm, it reduces the implementation maintenance costs of such low power networks. Performance evaluations were conducted LoRaWANs with LoRa repeaters to increase coverage, scenario where number location are determined by VNS metaheuristic. Parameters as spread factor (SF), bandwidth transmission adjusted...

A theoretical study and an experimental evaluation on the performance of long-range (LoRa) technology are presented in this paper. After instructive mathematical review important concepts, we assess LoRa additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels through a numerical model, to elucidate its communication capabilities negative signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions and, as consequence, long distances promised by such low power narrowband technology. Because significance forward error...

This paper introduces a pioneering hybrid topology tailored for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, integrating mesh and star wireless sensor configurations. hybridized approach aims to optimize energy consumption efficiency while ensuring comprehensive network coverage deployment. The formulation the strategy is rooted in empirical data collected from real sensors deployed across two neighboring municipalities within State Espírito Santo, Brazil. Specifically, our analysis encompasses...

As the number of devices in IoT networks grows, requirements for communication reliability increases. To ensure this reliability, work a hybrid network topology sensors is proposed, using mesh and star topologies. This aims to greater coverage sensor allocation. For planning, fusion Genetic Algorithm K-Medoids was proposed. An experiment performed with LoRa where acquired data were used test developed algorithm. In addition hardware proposed Cluster Head developed.

In this paper is proposed a hybrid network topology for IoT sensors using mesh and star networks. This aims to improve energy consumption efficiency ensure coverage sensor allocation. Experimental data collected in two cities of Esp´ırito Santo/Brazil were used plan the network. 380 spread across Vitoria city considered be connected´ gateway located Vila Velha. The fusion clustering by k-medoids algorithm genetic (GA) with binary solution applied define both clusters points network,...

A performance evaluation of the physical layer long-range (L αRa) technology is presented in this paper. Aπ experimental setup with off-the-shelf LoRa wide area network (LoRaWAN) devices were prepared to demonstrate feasibility technology. Feasible communication between a central oilproducing process used monitor several oil wells, located rural area, was achieved at distances up V 2.7 km, according measurements average received signal indicators around -100 dCm fur an SNR 5.6 dB. It...
