Different types of chromitite, including texturally massive, disseminated and banded varieties, are present in the Kop ophiolitic ultramafic rocks, which extend from Erzincan to Erzurum northeastern Turkey. The chemical composition chromian spinel these deposits is relatively homogeneous, with 0.64 2 O 3 FeO/MgO values range 0.71–1.12) chromitites precipitated very similar picritic basalt boninite, distinct contrast MORB-type magma. Abstract We present petrological investigations and mineral chemistry of several Tethyan ophiolites to reveal the occurrence, origin, fate water in podiform chromitites. The results show that clinopyroxene olivine chromitites have H2O contents 801–366 53–17 ppm, respectively. highest occur massive chromitite lowest always clinopyroxene-bearing ores because much available hydrous fluids was taken up by during crystallization. major trace elemental Li isotopic compositions associated with...
Abstract Potassic volcanic rocks are characteristic of collisional tectonic zones, with recycling continental crust playing an important role in their generation. Potassium-rich partial melts and/or fluids derived from subducted material initiate mix mantle-derived and then erupt at the surface varying degrees interaction overlying lithosphere. The details how incorporates into mantle are, however, uncertain. In particular, depths which potassium-rich released react remain a subject debate....
