Is DNA or RNA a good nutrient? Although scientists have raised this question for dozens of years, few textbooks mention the nutritional role nucleic acids. Paradoxically, mononucleotides are widely added to infant formula milk and animal feed. Interestingly, competent bacteria can bind ingest extracellular even integrate it into their genome. These results prompt us clarify whether “eat” as food. We found that Escherichia coli grow well in medium with carbon nitrogen sources. More...
Abstract Is DNA or RNA a good nutrient? Although scientists have raised this question for dozens of years, few textbooks mention the nutritional role nucleic acids. Paradoxically, mononucleotides are widely added to infant formula milk and animal feed improving Intestinal health. Here, found that E. coli can grow well in medium with as carbon nitrogen sources. More interestingly, presence glucose DNA, bacteria grew more rapidly, showing use an excellent source. Surprisingly, amount culture...
