We report a spontaneous and hierarchical self-assembly mechanism of carbon dots prepared from citric acid urea into nanowire structures with large aspect ratios (>50). Scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (s-SNOM) broadly tunable mid-IR excitation was used to interrogate details the process by generating nanoscopic chemical maps local wire morphology composition. s-SNOM images capture evolution formation complex interplay between different constituents directing assembly...

The college transition is uniquely challenging for many first-year students. Few studies have investigated developmental change in students' adjustment across this brief, but significant transition, nor the daily interpersonal dynamics that are associated with same time. Guided by ecological and stage-environment fit frameworks, study examined trajectories of positive negative affect to college. Further, we interactions parents friends as predictors these trajectories. Participants were 146...

Acetonitrile bound to and activated by the Lewis acidic [Re6(μ3-Se)8]2+ cluster core was transformed into acetamidine in quantitative yield using NH3 as nucleophile at room temperature. The amidine ligand removed treating cluster-acetamidine complexes with trifluoroacetic acid CH3CN, affording amidinium trifluoroacetate starting acetonitrile complexes.
