Sacroiliac screw fixation in elderly patients with pelvic fractures is prone to failure owing impaired bone quality. Cement augmentation has been proposed as a possible solution, because other anatomic areas this shown reduce loosening. However, our knowledge, not evaluated for sacroiliac screws. We investigated the potential biomechanical benefit of cement cadaver model osteoporotic bone, specifically respect loosening, construct survival, and fracture-site motion.Standardized complete...

Objectives Numerous complications following total knee replacement (TKR) relate to the patellofemoral (PF) joint, including pain and patellar maltracking, yet options for in vivo imaging of PF joint are limited, especially after TKR. We propose a novel sequential biplane radiological method that permits accurate tracking tibiofemoral (TF) joints throughout range movement under weightbearing, test it knees pre- post-arthroplasty. Methods A three with end-stage osteoarthritis had undergone TKR...

Bicruciate retaining knee arthroplasty, although has shown improved functions and patient satisfaction compared to other designs of total replacement, remains a technically demanding option for treating severe cases arthritic knees. One the main challenges in bicruciate arthroplasty is proper balancing soft tissue during surgery. In this study biomechanics was investigated using validated computational model joint with high fidelity definitions structures along Taguchi method design...

We consider the problem of human action recognition using non-negative sparse representation extracted features from spatiotemporal video patches. Our algorithm trains dictionaries for calculation a feature vectors and uses linear Support Vector Machine (SVM) to distinguish between different actions. evaluate performance proposed techniques by two datasets (KTH IXMAS). In both cases, technique outperforms state-of-the-art techniques, achieving 100% accuracy on KTH dataset.
