Quantum error correction with erasure qubits promises significant advantages over standard due to favorable thresholds for errors. Large area reduced graphene oxide (RGO) thin films have been grown using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. Three new copper(<sc>ii</sc>) complexes, <italic>viz</italic>., [Cu(L)(NO<sub>3</sub>)(H<sub>2</sub>O)]H<sub>2</sub>O <bold>1</bold>, [Cu(L)(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>2</sub>]NO<sub>3</sub><bold>2</bold> and [Cu<sub>2</sub>(L)<sub>2</sub>(pyrazine)](ClO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>·4H<sub>2</sub>O <bold>3</bold>, were prepared using a biomimetic synthesis strategy [HL = 4-chloro-2-{(<italic>E</italic>)-[2-(pyridin-2-yl)hydrazinylidene]methyl}phenol].
