Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices have demonstrated efficacy in adults and more recently youths older with type 1 diabetes. In diabetes, the use of real-time CGM compared intermittently scanned was associated improved glycemic control, but there are limited data available for youths. To assess real-world on achievement time range clinical targets different treatment modalities diabetes. This multinational cohort study included children, adolescents, young younger than 21 years...
Although several evidence-based guidelines for managing diabetes are available, few, if any, focus on the psychosocial aspects of this challenging condition. It is increasingly evident that treatment integral to a holistic approach diabetes; it forms key realizing appropriate biomedical outcomes. Dearth attention as much due lack awareness guidelines. This lacuna results in diversity among standards clinical practice, which, India, also size and complexity care itself. article aims highlight...
Background Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) worldwide continues to increase, in particular India. Early T2DM diagnosis followed by appropriate management will result more cardiovascular event free life years. However, knowledge of the profile newly diagnosed patients is still limited. The aim this study was understand extent disease (CVD) risk Methods A cross sectional observational conducted evaluate clinical laboratory and socio-demographic parameters 5,080 (48.3 ± 12.8 years age; 36.7%...
The present study aimed to evaluate the nutrition value, phytochemical content, and diverse pharmacological activities of different solvent extracts Borassus flabellifer L. fruit. Among all, hydro-alcoholic extract showed high DPPH ABTS radical scavenging with IC50 values 82.98 ± 0.93, 75.67 0.48 μg/mL, respectively. offered a noticeableα-amylase (IC50 = 82.90 0.73 µg/mL) α-glucosidase inhibitory effects 62.5 0.39 µg/mL), which were comparable standard drug Acarbose. In anti-denaturation...
Ehretia acuminata R. Br. is a plant with alternative medicinal properties, commonly found in Asian, African and North American countries. The present study was undertaken to prepare crude extracts of E. leaves different polarity solvents (petroleum ether (PE), chloroform (CH), ethyl acetate (EA), ethanol (EOL) aqua (AQ)) by using successive Soxhelet extraction method assessing antidiabetic, antiinflammatory antihemolytic activities the spectrophotometric antimicrobial activity zone...
Barks extracts of traditionally important medicinal plant, Ehretia acuminata R. Br. was screened for their free radical scavenging properties using ascorbic acid (A.A) and gallic (G.A) as standard antioxidant.Free activity evaluated 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical, 2,2′-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonic (ABTS), Ferric oxide reducing assay (FRAP) nitric assay. There were positive correlations between antioxidant assessed by ABTS, DPPH, FRAP & Nitric oxide, Total Phenolic...
Paediatric grommet insertions are a common ENT procedure which is typically carried out as daycase procedure. National guidelines exist (NICE CG60) outlining the criteria for insertions. At our institution it was noted that children were experiencing long waits their surgery with 78% breaching national 18 week RTT target by time of in preceding 6 months. 38% attending date audiograms and consequence, due to no longer meeting NICE insertions, 8% being cancelled on day surgery. To improve...
Introduction: There is a dearth of studies evaluating sexual dysfunction in women with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), despite anecdotal evidence suggesting an association between glycemic control and female health. Materials Methods: An observational cross-sectional study was carried out 100 T2DM under follow-up at regional diabetes center. Validated questionnaires, Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), Distress Scale (FSDS) were used to collate the prevalence severity (FSD) subjects....

Lack of systematic evaluation short stature results in unnecessary work-up on one hand while missing pathology the other. We have developed a mobile application that guides based age, auxology (height, BMI, and corrected standard deviation score), skeletal maturation with an aim reducing diagnostic errors. Aim this study is to develop validate for point care stature. The was (n=400) validated (n=412) children adolescents (2-18 years age) presenting our Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic stature....
Aromatase deficiency is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by impaired androgen to estrogen conversion. We report 13.5-year-old girl initially misdiagnosed as simple virilising 21 hydroxylase who presented with delayed puberty. Work-up showed aromatase due novel mutation in the gene. Estradiol replacement was associated increased growth, skeletal maturation, bone density and adiposity. Early treatment our case may have prevented metabolic complications ovarian cysts.
