The rising prevalence of familial multiple sclerosis (MS) in Iran has spurred interest the potential impact parental consanguinity on risk developing disease. Late-onset multiple sclerosis (LOMS), defined as the development of MS after age 50, has shown a substantial surge in incidence rates and is associated with more rapid progression disability. Besides, studies have linked tobacco smoking to higher chance progression. However, role on risk developing LOMS remains unclear.
