The severe erosion and inadequate mechanical strength are prominent challenges for high-energy gun propellants. To address it, novel PTW@PDA composites was prepared by polydopamine(PDA)-modifying onto potassium titanate whisker(PTW, K2Ti6O13), after incorporated into propellant as erosion-reducing mechanical-reinforcing fillers. interfacial characterizations results indicated that as-prepared exhibits an enhanced surface compatible with matrix, thereby facilitating their dispersion...
Single-based propellants containing 0.4wt%, 0.8wt% and 1.6wt% nickel powders(NPs) were prepared investigated in closed bomb tester transparent combustion chamber, which can provide variable-pressure constant-pressure conditions for propellant burning, respectively. In tester, burned to a pressure above 5-220MPa. The results showed that burning rate of was increased by 19.0%, 12.5% 11.9% 5-8MPa, 8-16MPa 20-200MPa, when NPs used propellant. Meanwhile, chamber with constant 1.0MPa, 1.5MPa,...
