IPCC climate forecast models, applicable to the Maghreb countries (Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia), predict a decrease in atmospheric precipitation, greater variability, an increase aridity. In recent years, entire region has been experiencing unprecedented upheavals. Climatic droughts have become increasingly severe recurrent (drastically reducing water stocks). We are also witnessing remarkable temperatures frequency of heat waves. Faced with these new provisions, this territory (long...
Abstract The IPCC climate models predict, for the Central Europe, are changes, being seen variability of temperature, with a growing trend 1-2,5° C (with 1° alpine zone – Carpathians and 2-2,5° plains). Current observations in Romanian plain not consistent, an existence multiannual temperature precipitations depending on cyclonal anti-ciclonal activity. research is based calculation reduced centered index, also graphical chronological method information processing (MGCTI) „Bertin Matrix”...
The last few decades have recorded a high frequency of the meteorological drought phenomenon. Southern and south-eastern Romania make no exception, with such phenomena often occurring from July to November 2011, which brought about an agrometerological that lasted third decade early December, slight improvement in October. This situation led decrease soil water reserves, mainly first 20 cm, negative impact on agricultural crops following year as well. The methodology was based correlative...
This study is the third in a series of investigations conducted by authors, and certainly most comprehensive research regarding former uranium, copper, charcoal mines from particular geographical area Romania. In this respect, present scientific incursion focused on two areas containing extraction uranium ore sites, Ciudanovita Lisava, as well copper Moldova Noua Anina, Banat Region, It highlighted that, for first time, heavy metal concentration was correlated with values physicochemical...
The study aims to assess the chemical composition of sulphurous spring waters collected from Pucioasa Vulcana Bai balneotherapeutical area, Dambovita County. sampling were achieved active and preserved sources (i.e. five springs), during summer period year 2016. content nine metals Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Cd, Zn, Pb) in water samples was determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS). relationships between physicochemical parameters pH, conductivity, TDS, salinity,...
The French region adjacent to the Mediterranean basin is vulnerable hydrological risks generated by convective precipitation in form of heavy rainfall and conditioned configuration relief. These are driven increase sea water temperature over last half century, which itself has been more pronounced since 1990. statistical analysis on frequency intensity a 24 48 h interval, correlated with NAO, WMOI SSTMED indices shows recrudescence amounting than 100 mm, leads genesis floods flash floods....
Abstract Boian Plain is a subunit of the Romanian affected, at least in last 20 years, by periods dryness and agro-meteorological drought with non-uniformity fall precipitation warm air masses invasions from North Africa. For 2008-2013 timeframe, such phenomena agro-climatic risk were recorded each year. The reduction water resources first cm soil affected crops, particular those cereal crops specific for this region. This thing had negative repercussions on quantity quality agricultural production.
The shaping of the current relief represents an important direction study concerning mountain areas, as these areas are some most dynamic units in Romania. A series major changes related to spatial-temporal evolution and variability meteorological parameters that generate climate features. special impact high is generated by extreme phenomena (freezing, precipitations, strong winds, action snow, heat waves cold waves, dynamics atmospheric circulation). complex Leaota-Bucegi characterized,...
ABSTRACT The Middle and Upper Palaeolithic sites in the Carpathians Danube lowlands constitute key contexts for tracing dispersal of Homo sapiens into central‐western Europe replacement neanderthalensis . Surprisingly, Romanian archaeological inventory lacks transitional technologies only a few have been systematically excavated numerically dated, explaining incomplete understanding hence Neanderthal population dynamics. Here we present new age constraints Abri 122/1200 Peștera Mare caves...
Spread over an area of 56m2, the Vârghiș Gorges include more than 124 caves that are located on four levels karstification, formed during Quaternary period, starting with Middle Pleistocene (Cosac et al., 2018; Cosac, 2023). Considered by Cosac al. (2021) as one themost easily accessible and visible caves, Abri 122 is right side slope in terminal (southern) Gorges, 625m above sea level about 30m stream.
The field research took place between 2019 and 2020, in the upper river basin of Raul Alb creek, located northwest Dambovita County, analysed land area being 4034 ha. Underlying complex erosion phenomena faced by territory was soil survey, which consisted sampling 46 profiles representative areas for territory. For analysis fertility, chemical analyses were performed regarding pH, humus content, reported to texture topsoil supply nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus potassium), also...
Since its inception, the Romanian archaeological school of Palaeolithic maintained interpretation layers through lenses geomorphological data as an objective. Our study presents one situations in which researches did not benefit from a direct collaboration between two fields inquiry, led to erroneous understanding sedimentary genesis settlement Malu Dinu Buzea (Covasna Department). Recent observations offered glimpse both vertical and horizontal movement material, due periodical reactivation...
The analysis of geo-morphosites as a method used to appreciate the value geomorphological sites is one most accurate methods can use, it relies on their comparison and integration into series patterns that largely eliminate subjectivism errors. There are several approaches in evaluation geo-morphosites, known by name those who initiated them (E. Reynard, J. P. Pralong etc.) they be applied such or adapted according specific features region belong to, well purpose (scientific, touristic,...
Arguments concerning the use of bitumen as adhesive for hafting some lithic tools from early Bronze Age in region Curvature Subcarpathians. This study brings into question Romanian Age. Bitumen samples were mechanically recovered surface two retouched slabs discovered Adânca and Gorgota. The source raw material is local comes shape thin menilit plates belonging to menilitian disodilic shale formations within geological formation Pucioasa-Fusaru Facies, a variety Subcarpathian Oligocene...
The Vârghiș Gorges karst system (Perșani Mountains, Eastern Carpathians) constituted a point of interest for speleologists, paleontologists and archaeologists since the second half 19th century. Their efforts succeeded in highlighting notable archaeological potential area, although actual research results were not always thoroughly reported. Since 2014, our team reunited specialists from 10 different institutions various fields initiated excavations, coupled with achaeozoological,...
