With the decarbonization and electrification of modern railway transportation, demand for both high-capacity electrical energy hydrogen fuel is increasingly high. A novel scheme was proposed from liquid production by surplus wind solar energy, to hydrogen-electricity hybrid transmission transportation. The 100 MW pipeline designed with 10 kA/1.5 kV superconducting DC cable electricity cryogenic layers nitrogen, showing strong capability in transmitting "electricity + cold chemical energy"...
Carbon emission from various transportations is one of the major factors towards global warming. With increasing energy demand railway transportation, conventional copper cables with high electric currents and considerable amounts resistances are facing challenges, e.g., loss heat. This article proposed a novel ultra-low electrical hybrid-energy transmission scheme. A real cable sample was fabricated, experiment proved high-current carrying capability. model built to study electromagnetic...
Josephson parametric amplifiers have become a critical tool in superconducting device physics due to their high gain and quantum-limited noise. Traveling wave (TWPAs) promise similar noise performance, while allowing for significant increases both bandwidth dynamic range. We present TWPA based on an LC-ladder transmission line of junctions parallel plate capacitors using low-loss amorphous silicon dielectric. Crucially, we inserted λ/4 resonators at regular intervals along the order maintain...
This letter proposes an improved nearest-level modulation (NLM) method to enhance the quality of output voltage a modular multilevel converter (MMC) with low amount submodules, as well restrain fluctuation submodules. By adding small offset, which is alternating at double fundamental frequency reference signals, phase shift step-changing moment between upper and lower arms' emerges. As result, odd-level difference arm that occurs, can increase level number from N + 1 2N 1, where submodules...
Renewable energy and storage technologies are expected to promote the goal of net zero-energy buildings. This article presents a new sustainable solution using photovoltaic-driven liquid air (PV-LAES) for achieving combined cooling, heating power (CCHP) supply. Liquid is used store generate smooth supply-load fluctuations, residual heat from hot oil in LAES system cooling supplements. Taking an actual building as research object, dynamic PV-LAES model built optimize power/cooling/heating...
The shortage of dc protection device limits the development grids. This letter proposes a novel superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES)-based transformerless series voltage restorer (TLSVR) for dc-load protections. proposed SMES-TLSVR is made up mainly bidirectional-switch-based converter and coil, interfaced in with transmission line. It has advantages duplex compensation ability, structure, swift response, wider range than traditional voltage-fed dynamic restorer. topology, circuit...
Abstract In this article, the superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) explores its relatively new application: power electronic circuit. The investigation of compact-size SFCL involves both experiments and numerical modelling. A bifilar-shape resistive-type was used in a DC-DC conversion circuit, for purpose suppressing overwhelming by 3 different types faults: input fault, output switch fault. modelling an electromagnetic-thermal coupled finite-element method (FEM) model based on H...
Superconducting qubits probe environmental defects such as nonequilibrium quasiparticles, an important source of decoherence. We show that "hot" with energies above the superconducting gap, affect differently from quasiparticles at implying can dynamic quasiparticle energy distribution. For hot we predict a non-negligible increase in qubit excited state probability Pe. By injecting into qubit, experimentally measure Pe semiquantitative agreement model and rule out typically assumed thermal
Compared with conventional Human to (H2H) communications, Machine (M2M) communications have confront much more challenges. In this paper, we focus on solutions provide longer battery lifetime. To obtain better power saving for M2M devices, paper proposes improved mechanisms radio access networks and core networks, in which the devices can work well simplified activities under optimized signaling flow. Meanwhile, proposed approaches do not introduce negative impacts legacy H2H terminals. This...
In DC micro grids and networks, DC-DC power converters having a large number of semiconductor-based electronic devices are usually adopted to interconnect the renewable sources flexible loads. Most suffer from poor fault withstanding abilities, but conventional protection schemes have bottlenecks time-delay, self-malfunction mis-judgement. This paper presents novel solution using superconducting current limiter (SFCL) protect device extend usage grid. SFCL is actually self-triggering,...

The introduction of doesn't produce the new dislocations also result electrical deterioration PhC LEDs. output power homoepitaxial LEDs double at 350 mA current is increased 29.9% 47.2%, respectively, compared to that without PhC. corresponding radiation patterns on GaN substrate...
Four-terminal resistance measurements have been carried out on Zn nanowires formed using electron-beam lithography. When driven resistive by current, these wires reenter the superconducting state upon application of small magnetic fields. The data are qualitatively different from those previous experiments nanowires, which revealed either negative magnetoresistance near ${T}_{c}$ or high-magnetic-field-enhanced critical currents.
