Abstract Apatite is present within both the hosting lherzolite and sulfide ore at Jinchuan magmatic Ni-Cu deposit of northwest China. grains are generally large hexagonal (>200 μm) associated with interstitial phlogopite amphibole. These apatite contain ~0.9 wt % F, ~1 Cl, 6,800 to 14,500 ppm rare earth elements (REE) have in situ δ18OV-SMOW values 5.10 6.38‰, all which indicative crystallization from an evolved silicate magma. In comparison, massive disseminated ores fine-grained...
Permian intermediate–felsic igneous rocks, widely distributed in the southern Beishan orogen, provide crucial constraints on geodynamic process of late Paleozoic Paleo-Asian Ocean. New zircon U–Pb dating using LA–ICP–MS determines age northern Qingshan diorites, Heishantou quartz and biotite granodiorites at 300 Ma, 294 291–286 respectively. Their whole-rock compositions exhibit arc-like geochemical features. Moreover, their trace elements show characteristics continental arc zircons. The...
The application of trace elements in magnetite for deposit genesis research is significant, highlighting its potential as a valuable mineral exploration tool. However, traditional low-dimensional analysis methods are not effective revealing the genetic types deposits using elements, they fail to fully utilize rich high-dimensional information provided by element analysis. To address this limitation, we implemented supervised machine learning method, eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost),...
The Devonian granitoids are widespread in the Beishan area of southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt, which provides key geological records for revealing middle Palaeozoic evolution Paleo-Asian Ocean. This study presents new zircon U–Pb ages, whole-rock major and trace elements, Sr-Nd-Hf isotopes four granitic plutons central Beishan. Haergen muscovite monzogranites were emplaced Early (401 Ma) considered as S-type based on their peraluminous features high P2O5 contents. They show 87Sr/86Sr(i)...
Skarn deposits constitute a significant reservoir of high-grade iron (Fe) ores in China, yet the metallogenic processes remain debated. This study focuses on iron-rich enclaves embedded within porphyritic monzonite, aiming to unravel mechanisms underlying skarn Fe deposits. The host monzonite intrudes into diorite. Within three types magnetite (Mt) are discerned. Mt-I, ranging from 50 100 μm size, predominantly occupies core enclave, enshrouding diopside at its center. Mt-II, with size range...
The Chinese Continental Scientific Drilling (CCSD) Project in Donghai recovered more than 1000 m of eclogite and garnet peridotite cores for study. Examination rocks from 100-2000 the main borehole has identified five major lithological types: (1) pyroxenite; (2) eclogitic gneiss; (3) peridotite; (4) biotite (hornblende) two-feldspar (5) fault breccia mylonite. was further subdivided into two crustal mantle-derived eclogite. Crustal eclogites are ubiquitous as layers various thickness...
Garnet is a common constituent of skarn type iron deposits and can be used to derive potential information on the genesis deposits. Here, we investigate petrologic, spectroscopic, geochemical characteristics garnet from Nanminghe deposit in China elucidate formation process, growth environment, genesis. We employ combination multiple techniques including petrography, Infrared spectroscopy (IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Raman spectrum, electron microprobe, LA-ICP-MS. The primary...
The HP–UHP metamorphic terrane of Jiangling, eastern Dabieshan comprises extensively distributed granitic gneisses, mica-schists and numerous eclogite blocks. generally contain garnet, phengitic muscovite, biotite, plagioclase, quartz, rutile a small amount epidote hornblende. Study on petrography phases equilibria in the NCKMnFMASH system indicates that present mineral assemblages are not equilibrium. earlier stage assemblage represented by garnet phengite reflects condition. compositions...
