Abstract Given that the concentration of 222 Rn in groundwater is much higher than surface water and its radioactive half‐life (3.83 d) short, an effective tracer groundwater–surface interactions. In this study, a new mass balance method presented, which can be used to estimate specific interactions within river reach. Three possible situations interaction between are considered, equations based on conservation formulated for judging processes calculating flux. A case study was conducted...

Abstract This study explores the potential of machine learning algorithms for earthquake prediction, utilizing fluid chemical anomaly data from hot springs. Six springs, located within an active fault zone along southeastern coast China, were carefully chosen as hydrochemical monitoring sites extended period two and a half years. Using this data, prediction model integrating six was developed to forecast M ≥ 5 earthquakes in Taiwan. The model's performance validated against recorded events,...

Abstract. The change of climate and environmental conditions has obviously affected the evolution propagation drought in river basins. Hun River basin (HRB) is a region seriously troubled by China, so it particularly urgent to evaluate hydrological investigate threshold triggering HRB. In this study, standardized runoff index (SRI) was applied reveal characteristics drought. Meanwhile, based on duration severity identified run theory, copula function with highest goodness fit selected...

Abstract The evolution of meteorological drought under global warming is great significance to risk management. Meanwhile, driving factors that influence hydrological and water cycle processes play an important role in assessment. Hun-Taizi River basin (HTRB) a region seriously troubled by China. Therefore, we reveal the characteristics its factors. First, standardized precipitation index (SPI) was adopted characterize drought. copula functions with highest goodness fit were established...

Karst groundwater samples were collected in the Xiongxian geothermal field for δ18O and δ2H data analysis. Both oxygen (-8.4‰ to -8.6‰) hydrogen (-72.4‰ -73.0‰) isotopes found enriched than precipitation (-9.4 -11.7‰ -76‰ -85‰ δ2H, respectively) late Pleistocene, when karst was recharged. The isotope is attributed water-dolomite interaction low-middle temperature field. ratio calculated as 0.3, based on exchange. deduced be caused by bacterial SO42− reduction.
