Abstract Methyl orange from water was removed by photocatalytic anodic oxidation using a titanium dioxide array surface. The coating prepared anodizing plate in an ethylene glycol electrolyte‐containing NH 4 F followed heat treatment to realize surface under UV light. Scanning electron microscopy imaging showed that the consisted of closely spaced nanotubes perpendicular plate. aqueous solution methyl circulated through rectangular channel flow cell containing coated anode. effects...

New metastable β-type Ti alloys for biomedical applications containing biocompatible alloying elements such as Nb can present remarkable mechanical behavior. Whenever the performance of an implant produced from is considered, it crucial to take into account their surface properties because they are intimately associated with osseo-integration. The osseo-integration orthopedic devices made CP–Ti depends directly on oxide layer formed surface. aim this study was investigate formation...

Chlor-alkali electrolysis continues to pose challenges for researchers. Replacement of the hydrogen-evolution reaction by oxygen-reduction can reduce overpotential cathodic process, depolarizing overall and saving energy. Here, we describe a series experiments determine cell voltage energy savings when copper-doped carbon/polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) oxygen-diffusion cathode is used in brine experiments, instead hydrogen-evolving graphite cathode. Voltammetric studies were carried out...

To enable the photoelectrocatalytic treatment of large volumes water containing low concentrations pollutants, this study introduces a hybrid photocatalyst, composed nanotubular oxides grown on TixW alloy (x = 0.5 and 5.0 wt %) modified with UiO-66 MOF, for degradation estrone (E1) 17α-ethinyl estradiol (EE2). The oxide layer (Nt/TixW) was prepared via anodization, while nanoparticles were synthesized by using solvothermal process. Different techniques modifying evaluated to maximize...

The removal of lead from an acid borate-nitrate solution containing Pb(II) was used to characterize the mass transport properties electrolytic reactor with reticulated vitreous carbon cathodes, operated in flow-through mode. Current potential curves recorded at a rotating disc electrode were determine diffusion coefficient for under conditions experiments. performance and figures merit investigated by using different flowrates cathode porosities. Dimensionless Sherwood Reynolds numbers...

A cathodic electrosynthesis strategy was conceived and demonstrated for the preparation of nanorods/nanotubes supported on Nb foil. This method involved an interplay several processes including chemical attack fluoride species cathode, electrogeneration at a proximal Pt anode, its subsequent diffusion to electrocatalytic reduction finally, reaction between ionic oxygen precursor interface generate nanoarchitectures. The oxide were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray...

This study introduces a novel photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) system featuring Ti–O–Cu mixed nanotubular oxide photoanode for the simultaneous activation of peroxymonosulfate (PMS), targeting removal emerging contaminants, such as methylene blue dye, tetracycline, and ibuprofen. The Ti–5.5Cu (atom %) alloy substrate layer were synthesized through arc melting electrochemical anodization. conditions photoelectrocatalysis-assisted PMS (PEC/aPMS) optimized using experimental design, achieving 90.4%...

Fifty elderly patients who had suffered cerebrovascular incidents from no obvious cause and 33 age-matched controls were investigated for the presence of a patent foramen ovale by contrast 2-dimensional echocardiography at rest after Valsalva manoeuvre. Right-to-left shunting was found in only one patient none controls. This finding is contradistinction to young adult stroke whom prevalence haemodynamically significant foramina high. Paradoxical embolism an uncommon elderly.

The tunable Tc region of MnSb alloy (44 - 49 % at. Sb) was analyzed using OM, VSM, DSC, XRD, EDS and XRF characterization techniques. Thermal magnetic analysis suggests the existence a non reported irreversible reaction on heating, compatible to reverse peritectoid transition MnxSb ➔ Mn2Sb + Mnx'Sb.
