Pulsed field gradient (PFG) NMR has been used to probe self-diffusion of molecular and ionic species in aqueous mixtures choline chloride (ChCl) based deep eutectic solvents (DESs), order elucidate the effect water on motion inter-molecular interactions between different mixtures, namely Ch(+) cation hydrogen bond donor (HBD). The results reveal an interesting complex behaviour such at a level. In general, it is observed that hydroxyl protons ((1)H) have diffusion coefficients significantly...
Water miscible ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents have useful properties that make them suitable for lubricants especially in marine environments.
It has previously been shown that eutectic mixtures of quaternary ammonium salts and hydrogen bond donors form liquids with properties similar to ionic [1; 2]. These so-called deep solvents (DESs) have physical which would make them useful as base lubricants. The lubricant needs show specific properties, including high viscosity index (VI), low friction coefficient (μ), pour point corrosivity. To determine the applicability DESs lubricants, corrosion lubrication for four type III studied...
