Niobium carbide, chromium carbide and niobium–chromium coatings were deposited using the thermo-reactive diffusion (TRD) deposition technique on AISI D2 steel substrates, their wear corrosion resistance was studied. The morphology of characterized through optical scanning electron microscopy (SEM), crystalline structure studied X-ray diffraction (XRD). Chemical composition evaluated via energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) photoelectron (XPS). hardness measured nanoindentation, ball disk...

Niobium coatings deposited by magnetron sputtering were evaluated as a possible surface modification for stainless steel (SS) substrates in biomedical implants. The Nb on 15 mm diameter having an average roughness of 2 mm. To evaluate the biocompatibility three different vitro tests, using human alveolar bone derived cells, performed: cellular adhesion, proliferation and viability. Stainless tissue culture plastic also studied, order to give comparative information. No toxic response was...

Nanocarrier systems are currently being developed for peptide, protein and gene delivery to protect them in the blood circulation gastrointestinal tract. Polylactic acid (PLA) poly(lactic-co-glycolic) (PLGA) nanoparticles loaded with a new antimicrobial GIBIM-P5S9K peptide were obtained by double emulsion solvent extraction/evaporation method. PLA- PLGA-NPs spherical sizes between 300 400 nm PLA 200 PLGA <0.3 polydispersity index as determined dynamic light scattering scanning electron...

Exploring the vast compositional space offered by multicomponent systems or high entropy materials using traditional route of discovery, one experiment at a time, is prohibitive in terms cost and required time. Consequently, development high-throughput experimental methods, aided machine learning theoretical predictions will facilitate search for their variety. In this study, oxides are fabricated characterized automated techniques. For intuitive visualization, graphical phase-property...

This work analyses the effect of alkali treatment on mechanical properties banana fibre (Musa Paradisiaca). Fibres were extracted from pseudostem by a defibring machine; they mercerised and modified 5% NaOH (w/v) treatment. Morphological characterisation showed that treated fibres' surface was rougher than untreated fibres. Mechanical indicated Young's modulus, ultimate tensile strength strain became decreased increasing both diameter.

Chromium carbide, vanadium and chromium–vanadium mixture coatings were deposited on AISI D2 steel via the thermo-reactive deposition/diffusion (TRD) technique. The carbides obtained from a salt bath composed of molten borax, ferro-chrome, ferro-vanadium, aluminum at 1020 °C for 4 h. Analysis morphology microstructure was done scanning electron microscopy (SEM) X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. hardness evaluated using nano-indentation, friction coefficient determined pin-on-disk (POD)...

Biodiesel is a renewable fuel consisting of alkyl esters, which show higher corrosive behavior when compared with diesel fuel. The processes by biodiesel affects the processing infrastructure this biofuel and mechanical parts automotives. Valves, engine blocks, cylinder liners are gray cast iron components affected corrosion. corrosion resistance niobium carbide (NbC) coatings deposited using thermoreactive diffusion (TRD) on in continuous contact palm was studied. Both coated uncoated...
