Global biodiversity and ecosystem function are the result of complex networks interactions feedbacks between animals their environments, which in turn affected by organisms they host. Understanding these networks, including main drivers responses to ecological environmental changes global implications, requires adopting a systems-based perspective. We advocate for this approach characterizing framework centered around bats, globally-distributed mammalian order, dual roles as both inhabitants...

Abstract Forty-two species of tube-nosed bat, genus Murina , are distributed across Asia but none has hitherto been reported from Bangladesh. Here we document the first record Bangladesh, based on an adult male specimen captured in Rema-Kalenga Wildlife Sanctuary, July 2023, using a four-bank harp trap set forest trail. On basis external and cranial morphometrics, it is referred to round-eared bat cyclotis Dobson (Proc Asiat Soc Bengal 1872:208–210, 1872). The discovery this forest-dependent...

Bangladesh is at the ecological transition between Indo-Himalayan and Indo-Chinese subregions. The country also has one of highest human population densities in world only 6% remaining natural habitat, putting much its biodiversity risk. With more than 1455 species worldwide, bats are an important, but threatened, component global provide critical ecosystem services. Yet, there no comprehensive work on occurrence, diversity, or richness Bangladesh. Here, we collated data states neighboring...

Our study focuses on the butterfly checklist of Adampur forest beat, located in Rajkandi Reserve Forest Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. The was conducted between December 2014 and January 2018 aimed to document species area. A total 266 belong 149 genera 6 families (Papilionidae, Pieridae, Nymphalidae, Lycaenidae, Hesperiidae, Riodinidae) were recorded. Lycaenidae family exhibited highest richness, comprising 33.08% (n = 88) recorded species, while Riodinidae least prevalent, representing 0.38% 1)...
