We present a re-examination of mass spectral data obtained from the Pioneer Venus Large Probe Neutral Mass Spectrometer. Our interpretations differing trace chemical species are suggestive redox disequilibria in Venus' middle clouds. Assignments to (at 51.3 km) include phosphine, hydrogen sulfide, nitrous acid, nitric carbon monoxide, hydrochloric cyanide, ethane, and potentially ammonia, chlorous several tentative PxOy species. All parent ions were predicated upon assignment corresponding...

Nutrient remobilization during leaf senescence nourishes the growing plant. Understanding regulation of this process is essential for reducing our dependence on nitrogen fertilizers and increasing agricultural sustainability. Our laboratory interested in chromatin changes that accompany transition to senescence. Previously, darker green leaves were reported Arabidopsis thaliana hac1 mutants, defective a gene encoding histone acetyltransferase CREB-binding protein family. Here, we show two...

The search for life beyond Earth has focused on Mars and the icy moons Europa Enceladus, all of which are considered a safe haven due to evidence current or past water. surface Venus, other hand, extreme conditions that make it nonhabitable environment as we know it. This is in contrast, however, its cloud layer, which, while still an environment, may prove be some forms similar extremophiles Earth. We consider venusian clouds habitable based presence (1) solvent biochemical reactions, (2)...

Beyond Earth, the closest planetary environment that could possibly support life are clouds of Venus. With Earth-like pressures and temperatures, acidic cloud aerosols potentially host extremophiles such as acidophilic archaea among oldest organisms on Earth found in considerably less environment. We present case Venus meets first strategic objective, "Understand Sun, Solar System, Universe" (Discovering Secrets Universe Searching for Life Elsewhere), NASA's plan exploration a should be...

Obesity‐associated hyperinsulinemia or insulin‐resistance is considered as a poor prognostic factor for triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), particularly aggressive subtype, constituting about 15–20% of all cancers. As growth factor, insulin can activate the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway that associated with increased proliferation rate TNBC cells. While this association has been recognized some time, mechanistic role in promoting remains unclear. mTOR signaling enhances mitochondrial biogenesis...
